Last week I got a catalog in the mail from Connecting Threads. I look forward to their catalogs because the photos of finished quilts are just eye candy. There was a quilt featured on one page that caught my attention and would not let go. It was in colors I would not normally think of using together - oranges and purples - and the pattern was irresistible to me. It is called Home Awaits by Myra at Busy Hands Quilts. I visited her blog, found the pattern in her Etsy shop, and downloaded the pattern.
In this post about the Pantone Quilt Challenge (see the coral badge in my sidebar), I was considering the Uneven Nine Patch as my block for the quilt; but instead I am using the Home Awaits pattern. What I love about this pattern is that it features 10-inch squares of fabric, and I LOVE the fabric I'm using for the challenge! I started cutting yesterday. This afternoon we will leave to attend the graduation of our oldest granddaughter tonight, so there won't be much time spent in the sewing room today!
The Connecting Threads catalog led me to Myra's blog where I noticed she has a linky party on Fridays - yay! So this post is linked to Finished Or Not Friday. Of course mine falls under the "Not" category!
It will be gorgeous when done, and then you can post it on Finished {or not} again!
ReplyDeleteYes that's true! :)
DeleteHi Linda! I received that catalog in the mail and have been saving it to drool over this weekend. But I have been following Myra for quite a while and saw when she shared this lovely piece on her blog. Ooh-la-la! 10" fabric blocks, and that beautiful coral color combined - I can't wait to see this project come together with all of those lovelies together. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThanks Roseanne. :)
DeleteI had to go get my Connecting Threads catalogue and take a look at that pattern, too! It looks perfect for featuring that pretty fabric you're using, Linda. I'll enjoy seeing it come together!
ReplyDeleteThe Connecting Threads catalog is just too tempting for me sometimes. ;)
DeleteYour posts have been so inspiring that I have been signing up for the catalogs that you mention, and favoriting all kinds of Etsy shops. I don't quilt, as you know, but still. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Pattie I can't imagine inspiring anyone, but thanks! :) As far as not quilting but looking anyway, well, eye candy!
DeleteI love these scrumptious colors and that floral! They will look so pretty in the pattern you chose. You have a lot going on with that new baby and a grad! What a wonderful time of life! Have fun— great reasons for taking a little time from sewing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Janine! :)
DeleteLovely quilt fabrics you've chosen for Home Awaits! Thanks for the mention of my pattern and shop. Be sure you link up to Finished or Not Friday with your progress and finish. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Myra!
DeleteWhat a beautiful choice of pattern for the challenge. I love your fabrics too and I hope the graduation went well! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteIt was great Christine! Thank you for your sweet comments.
